Still waiting...

So it's July 22nd and still don't have any firm news re: dates for travel... For a few weeks ICAS (Intercountry Adoption Service - part of DHS in Melb) didn't really know what was going on. We spoke to our Social worker yesterday, who having dug around a little, got to the bottom of the delay. It seems the Dr in the Philippines who heads the medical panel has still not passed on the necessary info to the embassy in Manila. He was asked to submit the documents in 10 days and 3.5 weeks later still nothing... at least we now know why we've heard nothing and ICAS can apply some presssure for this to be resolved quickly. Apparently what then happens is that the Dr lets the embassy in Manila know the outcome of his review, the embassy in Manila lets the immigration operations centre in Sydney know, Sydney let ICAS in Melbourne know, ICAS let us know... well you get the idea, this could still take a while. As you might imagine the wait is taking its toll emotionally on us all , but we're hanging in there 'cause that's all we can do.

  2. Arrrg!

I'm assuming that no news is not good or bad news. Thinking of you often. Can only imagine how slowly time is passing for you. Like week 38 of pregnancy but in slow motion. :-)
