Not so great...
The best laid plans... seems a pretty apt title for our blog today. We received a call yesterday from our social worker expecting to have final confirmation of dates to pick up JM. Instead we were told that there's been a delay and we wont be heading over as expected. The medical review board responsible for making recommendations to the Immigration Department have asked for more information about JM's medical history. We feel pretty gutted... we've been rushing around madly getting things ready at work, at home, flights were lined up, we've been reading like crazy and preparing ourselves emotionally. We were so excited, suitcases ready, Will wanting to pack now... Ahhhhhhhhhh !!! We know the delay will only be for for 3 or so weeks but right now that seems like an eternity. Keep us in your prayers (if you're the praying kind)... looks like we'll head over now in early August, but the best laid plans...

Different but good
I love this quote that was written by an adult who was adopted as a child.
"I think the most important thing you can teach and share with your children is that they are different (not only because of race but by being adopted) and your family is different but that difference is good and unique and special. Being different from others allows all of us to have rich experiences that other families will never have. Being different means being lucky and blessed" Kirstin
